Subiaco (pronounced soo-bee-acko) is located on the north-western side of Kings Park, only 3-4km from the Perth CBD. Subiaco is well known for its theatres and its cafés and boutique shops around Rokeby Road. The suburb is well placed for access to Perth CBD by road or rail (Subiaco station is 3 stops from Perth). Kings Park and the Swan River are within a short drive and the beach at Cottesloe is some 6-7km away.

In recent years the popularity of Subiaco has increased, brought about mainly by the sinking of the railway and an urban redevelopment project known as Subi Centro, comprising parkland, commercial and residential buildings.

The other main feature of the Subiaco landscape is the Subiaco Oval - home to both of Perth's AFL football teams - the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers.

Whether you live, work or play in Subiaco, you will find this vibrant inner-city suburb bursting with fashion, food and entertainment.

Subi's residents enjoy a mix of the old and the new contrasting between restored federation houses and the new Centro redevelopment. And Subi is the preferred inner-city place to work in Perth with thousands of businesses surrounding the shopping areas.

With more than 70 designer fashion stores, 50 cafes and restaurants, 15 homewares stores, 15 health and beauty outlets, 10 jewellery stores and 7 bookstores, it's no wonder Subiaco is a shopper's paradise.

Subi's Rokeby Road boasts Perth's best strip shopping, complemented by the vibrant Hay Street and Subi Centro shops.

At The Colonnade you'll find leading designer labels from Australia and the world. Or for more laid-back shopping, stop at The Subiaco Pavillion or Station Street markets.

Cosmopolitan Subiaco is really a foodie's heaven. An array of nosheries and gourmet food outlets line the streets, luring pedestrians with their exotic aromas and funky fit-outs.

From traditional to contemporary and fusion, tantalising fare from around the globe can be savoured right here in the heart of Subi.

Add fine wine, sublime desserts and robust coffee and you have a complete dining experience on par with the best in the world. Why would you go anywhere else?

Subiaco oval is the largest and most recognised stadium in Western Australia with a capacity of over 43,000 and world-class facilities. Subiaco was built in 1908 and was then known as Mueller Park, with the first match on 9th of May in that year between Subiaco and East Perth. The facilities have been consistently improved since. The 3-Tier Stand which dominates the end behind the goals opened on 31 August 1969 and the 2-Tier Stand on the members’ wing on 27 April 1981. The ANZ Stand opposite the members stand opened on 14 May 1995, that stand included 2-Tiers of seating and also Corporate boxes on the wing.

Subiaco Oval is as much an icon as it is a stadium, the ground is well known around Australia, due to the battles between the West Coast Eagles and its main rivals in its early days, and more recently the local derbies against cross town rivals, Fremantle Dockers. The 2000 National Soccer League grand final was perhaps the best game of soccer ever to have occurred in Australia. When the Glory lost on Penalties after leading 3-0 at half time in front of a record Subiaco crowd since the redevelopment of 43,242, these are the most memorable of all events ever staged at this proud historic and momentous venue.
