The Public Transport Authority operates an integrated public transport system that provides road, rail and ferry services throughout Western Australia.

Unlike the Perth suburbian train services, the buses in Perth are operated by several operators, and are contracted with the Public Transport Authority, Government of Western Australia, under the Transperth brand name. This operation started from 1996 onwards.

Routes for Perth Buses

The average TransPerth bus route operates every thirty minutes and stops before 9:00pm weekdays. Most routes operate approximately half-hourly or hourly on Saturdays, and every half-hourly to two hours on Sundays. Despite trading hours being de-regulated in the 1990s, only about a quarter of bus routes operate on Sundays and evenings.
