Living in Western Australia - Coaches
Greyhound & Transwa coaches offer an excellent service throughout Australia. Tickets can be purchased to travel the whole of the country over a twelve month period which offers excellent value for money. Be aware that these are vast distances and long periods of time sat on the coach. Having said that it offers the best way to see the 'real' Australia.
TransWA Coaches
Transwa coaches are fitted with the most modern entertainment systems. Passengers can view DVD or video on any of the three monitors situated throughout the interior, or utilise the audio facilities which include AM/FM radio, audio cassette player, compact disc player and a public address system. Individual volume controls are situated at each pair of seats.
In addition, every coach is fitted with a refrigerated drinking water facility, toilet with baby change table, mirror, hand basin, liquid soap dispenser, paper hand towels and air hand dryer facilities.
Transwa has gone to great lengths to ensure that the needs of passengers with disabilities are properly met in its new coach fleet. With all the new coaches three seats can be removed to accommodate two wheelchairs.
To ensure that the needs of those with disabilities are met, a committee, which looks after all issues associated with accessible transport, examined the coaches at various stages of manufacture and raise any concerns. This consultative process was clearly beneficial because Transwa has ended up with coaches that are highly accessible to all passengers.
Other features include raised numbering on the seats, yellow handrails and brightly contrasting coloured strips on steps to improve visibility for the vision-impaired. Coaches also have outlets for people who need nebuliser/oxyviva facilities, and an electronic suspension system that allows them to "kneel" by about 120mm to further improve access.
With the introduction these new and exciting facilities, Transwa has the renewed its commitment to service, quality and making the connection with regional Western Australia.

Transwa road coaches service more than 275 regional Western Australian locations spread across 20 routes. The network extends to Kalbarri, Geraldton and Meekatharra in the north, Augusta Pemberton and Albany in the south-west and Esperance in the south-east.
