As the whole of Australia is very newspaper orientated you will find a lot of job vacancies and ads via the newspapers ads. They are of high a standard and are used/respected highly by both business and prospective employees alike.
Western Australian Job Ads & Adverts
As far as job and employment ads go the West Australin reigns king. It publishes the employment section on both a Wednesday and a Saturday each week, with the Saturday publication being the most comprehensive of the two. The Western Australian Jobs section website (www.thewestcareers.com.au) offers the facility to search previous ads under set criteria from the newspaper listings, though this list is not as up to date as the publications.
A common tactic is to use the newspaper to find the company or business who are looking to recruit and then armed with that information to directly approach them or their recruitment agency, with resume/cv in hand.
The first come first served attitude can sometimes be a winning factor although when a recruitment agency is involved, a more systematic approach is usually taken.

The above newspaper sections list is in alphabetical order but the catagories are not listed in that way. However, they are very cleary headlined and and there is an index at the front of the section which is very easy to find.
You also find large size advertisements within each category as well as column length ads. The current skill shortage within Western Australia newspaper certainly shows itself within the newspaper job section each week!
Look out for local free and community newspapers which also display and run adverts for jobs.
