What's the suitability to you of this business? Where is it located and how will you travel there plus the travelling time are all important factors in selecting a business to buy. Sit down and draw up a set of criteria that you would like the business to have and that you would be prepared to accept before starting the process.

Does the business match your skill set and experience? Would you be able to involve your family members in the business? Would you wish to do this and would they wish to be involved? There are many questions of this nature to ask and discuss with people prior to taking the journey and finding the right business for you.

What hours will you be expected to put in and what are the opening hours for the business. If the trading hours are 7 days per week this may not suit you. Don't waste time and effort looking at a business that does not fall into the categories that you have set for yourself.

If there are new skills to be learned, how capable are you in doing that and what would it take in terms of time and costs.

In seeking a business to buy ensure it is suitable to you, your family and your requirements.
